Spring/Summer '16 | Interior Trends

While the famously temperamental Yorkshire weather rains down on us on this gloomy Friday afternoon, we're beating the January blues here at JFM Interior's and focusing on warmer and sunnier times to come!

A new calendar year inevitably brings new seasonal trends, whether it be fashion, technology or interior design, so we’ve put together just a handful of our favourite forecasted looks for your home interior this Spring.

From bright, bold prints to natural neutrals, Spring 2016 is looking to spice things up in the world of interiors and bring you something new and fresh. Here’s four of our favourite inspirational looks this year.

1. A New Leaf

Not for the faint hearted; think exotic jungle prints, vibrant patterns and mixed materials.

Botanicals took the interior’s world by storm in 2015 with terrariums, cacti and fern’s fast becoming a statement trend in homes up and down the country. So, of course, 2016 has taken it one step further with the introduction of bold, brash and brilliant leafy wallpapers and fabrics set to become a must have this Spring.

Clashing colour palettes, jungle prints and exotic palms working alongside retro rattan furnishings and natural bamboo accessories will be set to take centre stage. Anyone up for the challenge?

If you’re looking to get this bold look, accessorise with our bamboo lanterns or fake the real thing here with our succulent flower tea light holder's.

2. Monochrome

There’s no denying that the traditional hues of black and white are less of a trend and more of a timeless classic in any home, never dating or going out of fashion. From bedroom to bathroom, Spring 2016 looks to take a more minimalistic approach to monochrome keeping it simple and fresh.

In fashion and interiors, the black and white combination oozes sophistication and style. This clean, contemporary style can take on a number of looks, from strong, geometric prints or soft decorative textiles. 2016 see’s the introduction of copper and marble mixed with monochrome making a match made in heaven.

Shop our white moulded rocking chair or browse our black floor lamp here for a modern take on monochrome.

After all; Life’s much simpler in black and white.

3. In The Pink

Pink is the new neutral. We’re talking soft, pastel blush pink. The colour of calamine lotion and rosy cheeks. 2015 saw a huge trend with the clashing hues of pastel pink and coppers, however this year, we’re set to tone it down a notch with combinations of greys, whites and rose gold.

From soft furnishings such as cushions and throws to candle holders and accessories, pink is set to make a comeback in our homes, bigger and better than ever.

The blush pink trend is a favourite here at JFM Interior’s and as we like to be on trend at all times we have some gorgeous pastel inspired accessories over in our new Valentine’s collection. Shop the range here to get the look for less.

4. Natural Wood

In our fourth and final trend we look at going au naturel for Spring 2016, with stripped back natural textured woods.

Bringing nature into our homes is set to be a huge theme during the upcoming seasons. Teaming limed oak with stainless steel, yarn fabrics and rough textures can create a rustic look in all types of homes, while also keeping it on trend and away from looking old and dated.

Branded ‘Organic Glamour’, the use of artisanal objects and natural materials shot through with soft colour palettes can instantly warm any space during the Spring months.
